course description
A delay in the first payment of benefit, where the ‘rent’ element is usually paid direct to the claimant rather than to the landlords, is a feature of Universal Credit (UC) that has attracted the most publicity. Come and learn exactly how the ‘rent’ (housing costs) element of UC works so that you can help to make sure that people on a low income have the best chance of keeping a roof over their heads.
This course is for all organisations supporting people of working age on a low income where the work involves providing information or advice on financial capability and/or income maximisation.
