Rebekah Horton

Rebekah grew up in Silverton and moved to Torquay, Devon in 2021. During her University years she studied Scriptwriting BA Hons in University of South Wales and her passions are writing poetry, photography and editing videos.

She has plenty of experience in volunteering for charities and one of her achievements was supporting a group of people who were recovering from drugs, alcohol and mental health issues to find confidence in their voices and share their stories on stage with ECI. Rebekah also started a project after graduating university called 'Charitable Waves', this online project is an educational and creative platform that explores into the world of the charity sector, such as how to set up a CIC, start a cream tea campaign etc. She also wants to support others to find confidence in their voices and share their story on a creative platform, allowing everyone to educate and learn from each other's unique perspectives.

Rebekah joined Devon Communities Together in April 2024 as the Digital Marketing Apprentice.

I LOVE DEVON BECAUSE…

I love Devon because I want to support nature and wildlife. My favourite moment is during Autumn when the leaves transform into a mix of reds, oranges and browns and fall gracefully from the trees. I also admire the countryside views and find it therapeutic, especially when you need to have a moment to breathe and relax. While living in Torquay, I have to walk down the hill to go to the sea and the opportunity to watch and listen to the sea waves is soothing.
