Devon Communities Together has announced a new partnership with Dartmoor Brewery, which will see the two Devon organisations working together to raise money to support communities throughout the county.
The partnership will be predominantly based around the Brewery’s Legend ale, with a series of initiatives planned through which a percentage of Legend’s profits will be donated to the charity’s LOVE Devon campaign. The first of these initiatives will be at the Devon County Show, where visitors can visit Devon Communities Together’s stand to pick up a flyer which, when taken to the Dartmoor Brewery stand, will mean that Devon Communities Together receives 10% of the sale of every pint of Legend.
Other fundraising plans include a new ‘Beer Club’ and events at Dartmoor Brewery pubs throughout Devon.
Devon Communities Together is engaged in a wide range of projects and services that support communities that are facing challenges to thrive. It is focused on inspiring, upskilling, training, supporting and advising groups and individuals within Devon’s communities to meet the challenges they face and achieve positive outcomes. The LOVE Devon campaign is a way for people to get involved with the charity, through fundraising, volunteering and celebrating their love of Devon.
Chief Executive Elaine Cook commented: “We’re really pleased to be working with Dartmoor Brewery to raise money to help us support communities. We work with a broad range of people, from rural and coastal communities to more urban centres, but our work is always designed to help communities help themselves. Devon is a lovely place to live, work and visit but there are people and communities that are facing real hardship: loss of community services; lack of affordable housing; young people who are struggling to find employment; older people at risk of loneliness and isolation – these are just a few of the issues that we help communities to address. Support from individuals and other organisations that share our passion for Devon is invaluable in allowing us to carry out this work and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the Dartmoor Brewery team!”
Dartmoor Brewery, based in Princetown in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park, has the accolade of being the highest brewery in the British Isles. It sources its ingredients as locally as possible and is a proudly Devon business that understand the wonderful, and sometimes challenging, aspects of living in Devon.
Richard Smith, Managing Director of Dartmoor Brewery added: “As a Devon based business it’s really important for us to support local communities and Devon Communities Together works hard to support Devon based communities. Together we will do our bit to help raise much needed contributions. I will drink to that!”
