Launchpad event at The Lighthouse, Sidmouth
The first phase two Rural Enterprise Solutions Launchpad event took place on Thursday 28th March 2019 at The Lighthouse Sidmouth. The Lighthouse opened this year, it is a co-working space set up as a community interest company, enabling local entrepreneurs to work in a productive and collaborative space. With an ethos and desire to help enable and empower entrepreneurs in the SID Valley to realise their business potential and work in a supportive atmosphere, this was the perfect venue!
Attendees benefited from networking, information sharing, and signing up for further business coaching support through both the Rural Enterprise Solutions Project, and the New Start Devon project.
Our venue hosts shared their thoughts on the evening;
“The staff from Devon Communities Together were really friendly, helpful, and a fount of knowledge. They suggested a number ideas for potential sources of funding, and had lots of handy hints about how to put together an effective application. We’re also really looking forward to the business coaching on offer. All in all it was both and informative and a fun evening.” - Cathy Debenham, co-founder, The Lighthouse Sidmouth.
”I learned LOADS, and it was excellent to meet you all! I had no idea just how many incredible resources for the rural business community were available. You all make an amazing team, and I hope we get to collaborate on many projects moving forward as I feel we are all in the business of empowering our local community to stay local AND create a successful business and lifestyle. It’s important that they are not considered mutually exclusive outcomes!” – Louise Thompson, co-founder, The Lighthouse Sidmouth
