Course Description

People retire for different reasons. Retirement can be something that people know is approaching, or someone could be retiring for reasons beyond their control. No matter the reason for retirement, it’s always important to prepare for it.

Preparation will create a form of structure, allowing you to think beyond the initial few weeks of retirement. However, losing structure that employment brings can impact a person’s self-worth, and leave them feeling lost. This can then impact on your mental health and  your level of physical activity. It is important for people in retirement to think about even the most simple of things; from planning  what to eat or even leaving the house.  Understanding  how your new life in retirement may affect you and planning for a positive retirement, will improve your health and wellbeing.

The course will provide you with the tools to plan your retirement, so that it will be both fulfilling and rewarding .

If you feel that you may need support in preparing for upcoming retirement then this course is open for you. It will cover the social, mental and physical aspects of retirement.

The course is lively and interactive and is aimed at helping and engaging employees and volunteers to explore the best ways to prepare for retirement. The course is also open to anyone involved in a company who employs a large amount of people, as it’s best to also know how to help those around you. The course can also be delivered in the workplace, subject to arrangements.
