Be ready when every minute counts: Community Emergency Hubs
When an emergency happens, every minute matters. Emergency services will always prioritise the most urgent calls, which means they may not be able to reach everyone straight away.
Community Emergency Hubs are community-run spaces where local people can come together to support one another and take swift, safe and effective action in those crucial early moments before emergency services arrive.
Community Emergency Hubs are run by the community, for the community. They can be set up in a wide range of local buildings and do not require volunteers to be identified in advance. When a hub is opened, simple role cards allow those who are available to step into clear roles immediately, helping the hub operate safely and effectively.
This short workshop explains how to set up a hub and how it functions. We will answer your questions and by the end you will be ready to go ahead and organise your Community Emergency Hub.
