COURSE DESCRIPTION

Pension Credit is not just about qualifying for a free TV licence. It can also increase people’s regular income by surprisingly large amounts and lead to additional financial support. Who wouldn’t want to know more, so that they can help older people who are struggling on a low income?

This course provides an overview of the conditions of entitlement to Pension Credit and demonstrates how entitlement to this benefit can lead to a significant improvement in the quality of life of those who can get it.

  • Identify the basic conditions of entitlement to Pension Credit

  • Understand the basics of how Pension Credit is calculated

  • Understand how Pension Credit can lead to further entitlement to financial support

YOUR TUTOR: VINCENT WILLSON

Vincent has worked for the Citizens Advice service in Devon since 1985. As an experienced trainer, he has provided benefits training for many years to voluntary and statutory sector staff, covering all aspects of the benefits system from introductory courses to Tribunal Representation. He has been a benefits caseworker for most of his working life, having taken cases to the Upper Tribunal level. He has been providing benefits training for Citizens Advice Devon since 2017. He is the Chief Officer at Citizens Advice Teignbridge.
