The Swimbridge Jubilee Hall committee embarked on a project to rebuild their dilapidated village hall in 2007. Not knowing where to begin with the project and where to source funding, they contacted DCT. Our community building team supported their lottery bid, business plan and provided their board with a ‘Sustainability Health Check’ to help with their business planning.
The £630,000 refurbishment scheme was completed and the doors to the new village hall were officially opened on Friday 16th January 2015.
Their grant application is being used as a model across the country for others to learn from before preparing their funding bids.
“I am so excited to have reached this result. It is a fantastic new hall for our community to enjoy and we look forward to it being fully booked with loads of things happening.”
