Travelling With Confidence
Improving public transport access for people with disabilities
Travelling with Confidence is a Devon-wide project being co-delivered by Devon Communities Together and Living Options Devon.
It includes:
- Free training for people with disabilities to gain confidence using public transport
- Delivering disability awareness training to local partner organisations and travel providers
- Raising awareness of the barriers faced by people with disabilities in order to create change.
The Travelling with Confidence project aims to support people living in Devon and is funded by the Motability Foundation.

Tell us about your experiences
Travelling With Confidence aims to raise awareness about how disabled people experience public transport.
We would like to hear about your travel experiences, especially if there is someone you would like to thank and nominate as a ‘travel hero’. It could be a driver or guard, someone in a ticket office or information centre, or a member of the public who supported you.
Much as we all like to think that we would help someone if they needed it, sometimes people don’t help in simple ways like giving up a seat or keeping a wheelchair space free. We would like to hear these stories too, so we can better help to improve awareness and advise on good practice.
