Karen has joined the team having previously worked for South Devon College as Head of Marketing and Communications. During her time here, she was able to lead the College through several exciting projects including a brand refresh, two new websites and developing a number of successful events and marketing campaigns.
Her background is in hospitality and events, and after graduating from Bournemouth University in BA (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Management, her career started working for a conference and events agency, booking venues for a portfolio of blue-chip clients. She was then based in Bristol for 5 years, during which time she worked for two large hotels managing a range of corporate events. Karen progressed to Director of Sales and Marketing for the Radisson Blu Hotel where she honed her passion for marketing and communications, before relocating to Devon. She has also been involved with the Glastonbury Festival on a voluntary basis on a number of occasions, working with the site infrastructure office at Worthy Farm.
She has lived in Exeter for 10 years and has two young children, enjoys being outdoors and active, cooking and crafts.
