Nicola Gurr

Nicola moved to Devon in 2014 and loves everything about it.  She has worked in the NHS for most of her working life, starting as a nurse in London.  She took a few years out to do a History degree at The University of Edinburgh and a Masters in the History of Medicine at The University of Glasgow before re-joining the NHS as a Management Trainee rising over the years to an experienced senior manager.

She left the NHS in the autumn of 2018 and has set up her own company Montpelier Management Services providing training and support for local healthcare organizations with a range of services, mainly supporting small companies and charities with their tender bid writing along with project work.

She became a Deputy Lieutenant for Devon in November 2025. She is a volunteer with Tavistock Heritage Trust, leading walks around Tavistock.  She has also undertaken research into the Workhouse in Tavistock, on which she gives talks and presentations.

Nicola became our Chair in November 2020.
