Devon Communities Together was a leading a partnership with Wellmoor to launch a new initiative, which offered free support to people in a number of Devon rural and coastal communities with everyday online tasks.  

What were we offering?

With so much of our lives happening online it’s really important that people have a chance to learn the necessary skills and grow their confidence in the digital world. 

Digital Skills Devon, which was funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, provided personal, tailored support for individuals who are lacking in skills and confidence in particular online tasks. 

It covered subjects such as doing an online food shop, using the NHS app to access healthcare, checking energy use or joining an online chat to connect with friends and family. 

Up to five hours' free in-person support was available per person. 

who could access the support?

Support was focused on the following people across rural and coastal Devon: 

• Older adults
• Unpaid carers
• People with long-term physical and mental health conditions
• Disabled individuals (including neurodivergent)
• Individuals in isolated rural and coastal areas

• Long-term unemployed
