Sherford Village Hall is located in the heart of the village of Sherford near Kingsbridge, very close to the 13th Century St Martin’s church. It’s a large hall by village hall standards, capable of comfortably accommodating c100 people. Aside from the main hall there is another large room called the McKinnon Room that can also be hired for smaller events. The kitchen facilities are comprehensive including two commercial dishwashers and a separate room dedicated to food preparation and cleaning up after functions. The hall is fully licensed for the sale of alcohol (with its own mobile bar) and the performance of live music.
Outside there is extensive car par parking accommodation both at the front and the rear of the hall. Also at the rear, there is a canopied patio which can be used for BBQs etc in inclement weather.
Current regular hirers include Pilates, Dog Training, Young Farmers, Probus, Yoga and Childrens’ Parties. In addition, the hall’s management team hold monthly social get-togethers for village residents including BBQs throughout the summer season and also put on many one-off events such as Race Nights, Quiz & Curry Nights and Dinner Dances.
Sherford village is off the A379 that runs between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, being approximately 4 miles from the former. Coming from the Kingsbridge direction, take the first left after passing through Frogmore and the village can be found a mile further on.
HIRE CHARGES
The standard hall hire fee is £14 per hour which includes use of all kitchen facilities. The hall is large enough to cater for one-off events such as wedding receptions, engagement parties, birthday parties etc, for which a full day’s hire charge is £220 with a refundable deposit of £200 payable in advance. If additional time is required for setting up and/or clearing up, these costs can be supplied at the time of enquiry.
