Description

Filleigh Village Hall has been awarded HALLMARK *** by The Community Council of Devon. We are the first hall in North Devon to achieve this level, and the 2nd in all of Devon.
Filleigh Village Hall has been dubbed the ‘Queen of Village Halls’ and is set in the heart of rural North Devon, between Barnstaple and South Molton not far from the A361, North Devon Link Road, and access to the M5. The hall is positioned beside the Primary School and is surrounded by a large tarmac car park which has room for coach parking. The hall has views over green fields and is situated within the glorious Grade 1 listed private estate of Castle Hill.
The Hall has wheelchair access throughout and has a disabled toilet which doubles as a baby changing facility.
The entrance foyer gives access to the Main hall and a smaller Meeting/club room. The main hall is spacious, light and airy with under-floor heating for the cooler days and double doors opening out onto a sheltered covered patio area for the warmer ones. There is a ceiling fan. It has a semi-sprung floor, suitable for dances, dinners, wedding receptions, private parties, meetings, conferences and badminton. Wi-fi is available.
There are tables (round & rectangular) and chairs, together with crockery, glasses and cutlery, for 200 people. Also is a flexible, modular stage, blackout curtains and a projector screen. The hearing loop is available on request. The Gallery provides a large seating area beside the main hall which can be curtained off to provide a changing area for plays and other productions. This area can also accommodate a bar if required.
The Meeting room is also accessed from the foyer and has a hearing loop together with a projector screen.
Both rooms have separate access to the large well-appointed kitchen which has 3 free-standing electric stoves – suitable for the large functions. There is also a large commercial dishwasher that makes easy work of the job of washing and drying up. There is access to the exterior of the hall from the kitchen to facilitate bringing in any equipment used by outside caterers.
