Annabelle Murray has two BA Hons in Fine Art and Art History, and as a practicing artist has not only exhibited her work in America, Africa, UK and Ireland, but has curated an International collaborative project with Artists from Africa and the UK.
Annabelle has demonstrated the ability to think literally ‘out of the box’ as a co-founder of Sanctuaryartists in 2009 Kenya, using recycled cardboard to make postural management standing frames, chairs and sleep systems and up skilling local women of children with disabilities to make handmade paper from organic matter as a form of income generation for the project.
One of the crazier ideas Annabelle embarked on to support Sanctuaryartists was to Climb Mount Kenya to 17,000ft in 2016.
“I have used my skills and experience of project working for communities and vulnerable people groups both in Northern Ireland and Kenya as the Strategic Manager of a Disabilities Charity since 2015 and as a volunteer since 2010. Since having moved back to Devon permanently since 2019, I have been passionate about using my skills to assist people in this locality. Fundamentally, I am passionate about healthy micro communities and I believe that working with the team at DCT will give me a sense of constructively assisting people to shape their own communities in Devon for the future.”
