Current volunteering opportunities with Devon Communities Together
Are you passionate about keeping active and enjoy being out of doors then the Connecting Actively to Nature project may be just for you.
How about becoming a CAN Volunteer?
Feeling connected to nature is good for you. Being physically active is very good for you. Being Naturally Active is EVEN better.
'Connecting Actively to Nature' is a new project that will help people aged 55 and over get more Naturally Active. The project aims to make getting Naturally Active easy and enjoyable for those who currently do little or no activity, or are struggling to stay active.
Devon Communities Together is recruiting CAN Volunteers who are committed to our cause and helping people to connect actively to nature through accessing their local CAN groups. The role of a CAN volunteer is unpaid (All expenses covered) and requires a small time commitment. Link to CAN Volunteering information
SMART Energy GB (SEGB)
Would you like to help us reach older people who have no personal internet access to enable them to have information about the roll out of smart meters?
DCT is running a 6 month project this year, funded by Smart Energy GB and we are looking for up to 20 volunteers from the DSV network to help us with delivering this project. We are looking for volunteers who, with training and support from DCT project staff, will help us to reach our target groups of people aged 65+ and people aged 60+ with no personal internet access and provide information about the smart meter roll out and the benefits of having a smart meter installed (research indicates that 20% of households in our target group do not have internet access).
