NEWTON FERRERS
The former Community Buildings Grants scheme saw the completion of many successful projects, including the 88 year old W.I. hall in Newton Ferrers. The building was showing its age; walls, roof, insulation, the interior and services all needed attention, when the hall committee approached Devon Communities Together with a request for funds.
We met with members of their management committee to review the works they wished to undertake and to discuss what needed to be done to give themselves the best chance of winning our Grants Panel’s support.
Eventually an extensive application was submitted that successfully made the case for support and received a grant of £14,000, nearly ten percent of the cost of the project.
